We have just gone through one of the HOTTEST July's on record. The heat index was in the triple digits, on most days. Some homes were exposed as not having adequate insulation in their attics. Heat gain is tremendous when outdoor temperatures are over 93 degrees and relative humidity is also high. There were a lot of compressors that did not make it through July, due in part to inefficiencies with equipment and the extra heat gain we have experienced so far this year. Rather than replace your A/C system with a larger tonnage, insulate!
