Self-contained units are typically the best choice for smaller boats up to about 12 meters (40 feet) due to the lower cost of the units and installation. Ocean Link Inc is by far one of the most dishonest and unfair businesses that I have ever had the displeasure of working with. Not only do they charge higher than the national average for labor/hr (including the surrounding Marinas), they felt it was appropriate to charge me nearly $10,000 for unfinished work. When it is agreed upon to repair engine leaks present, it is NOT ACCEPTABLE to state and invoice that you have "addressed" the problem and leave it completely unfixed. As any good business owner would have done, if you can not complete a task, you simply do not charge the consumer for that job. When the issue was brought to the attention of Ocean Link's service manager, it was acknowledged that the work was incomplete and billed for and thus, a verbal agreement was reached to credit back a fair monetary value for the issues in question. Unfortunately, thanks to Terri, who I assume is the owner/manager of the business, Ocean Link Inc has failed to follow through with this agreement. Not only did I lose my money, I still have to find and pay another business to complete the repairs to my boat.
