In 1996 Fireplaces by Design was created to fill a void in the market. The industry was changing. Up until this point the industry was built by small shops who thrived by selling equipment and subcontracting the work to install them. Consumers had no where to turn when problems arose. Full service companies were needed in the hearth industry. Customers wanted one company that could handle the job from start to finish. Fireplaces by Design's parent company, Design Air, stepped in and developed a hearth business; a natural step from the HVAC industry.

Fireplaces by Design would like to warmly invite you to visit our showroom. Our experienced sales team will walk you through the process of selecting the perfect hearth product for your home. There are a few things that would be helpful for you to bring with you to help in that process. If you have an existing fireplace, it is helpful to know what type of fireplace it is, hot it vents, and to have basic measurements of the firebox, hearth and mantel, if applicable. Also, if possible bring photographs of your existing fireplace, or where you want the new product to be installed, as well as the exterior of the house where the product will vent.

Design Air is a sister company to Fireplaces by Design and is run by the same management team. They are a locally operated full service heating & air conditioning company. From our 12,000 square foot warehouse, we service Rockland, Westchester, Orange and North Bergen Counties. We have 14 service trucks and close to 50 employees. Over the years, our customer base has grown to over 20,000 clients. In addition to heating, cooling, and indoor air quality services we offer, we have a full metal shop on site for custom design ductwork that is made to last and prevent air leaks.
