Arctic sheet metal has the in-house expertise and equipment to fabricate and install most types of sheet metal siding and roofing systems. Additionally, we have the experience with many other types of metal and fiber-composite envelope systems used in today's commercial buildings. Our team can assist the design team, owner and general contractor with the scope development, details, means and methods and provide constructability input on the interface to other exterior systems of the building. Our reputation for quality HVAC services extends to these systems as well - a top-quality project, for a good value.

Arctic has developed a team of specialists in HVAC systems for medical facilities. They have learned all of the nuances of working in hospitals, medical labs and office buildings - working around live systems, patients and complex mechanical systems. Our team's knowledge of standards of practice for medical facilities is second-to-none and they take their work very seriously, ensuring that the patient experience, life-safety systems and protocols are never compromised in doing our work. Arctic has trained a continuum of personnel in medical facilities, with many supervisors spending nearly an entire career with one client and set of facilities.

Over the history of our company, Arctic has performed numerous projects for the pulp and paper, forest products and food processing industries that fall into this category. Heavier gauges of construction and equipment that is much larger than is typically encountered on most commercial projects requires specialized shop techniques, skills, certification and special attention to performing the work safely. Though Arctic is not a structural steel fabricator, the fabrication of large size, heavy-gauge ductwork, plenums, duct supports and associated process ventilation equipment begins to take on the attributes of steel fabrication.

Arctic Sheet Metal safety program is built on the foundation of good leadership providing the culture for safety, high performance and quality. Arctic has raised our project supervisors in the sheet metal industry. Our sheet metal supervisors start out their career as pre-apprentices, learning their way around the shop and construction projects. They move through the apprenticeship program learning the skills to build their career. The same goes for safety. When the young worker is exposed to an "injury free" culture and workplace and learns the use of the best-known methods for their work, they build within themselves an expectation that everyone works safely and goes home healthy.

Over the years our industry and markets have changed. Arctic was once strictly a sheet metal ductwork fabricator and installer, but as equipment technology has evolved, we have become a complete heating and ventilation system installer, with the evolution of "decentralized" equipment. Arctic's legacy of customers includes regional piping and plumbing contractors, general contractors, building owners, and HVAC system installers.

For over 40 years, Arctic has been fabricating and installing ductwork for commercial and industrial customers, but as industry, technology, and marketplaces have changed, so has Arctic's business model. We are a now a complete Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) installation and service contractor. We provide complete HVAC systems, mainly where the project involves "packaged" or "decentralized" air-delivery equipment. A common term within the industry has become "Dry Mechanical" systems.

Arctic Sheet Metal was founded in 1977 by Douglas McQuown. The core principles have not changed in 40 years, but the industry has significantly. Since the beginning, Arctic has embraced changes in manufacturing and installation technology. We are one of the first in the region to fully embrace Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) in our shop and Building Information Modeling (BIM) for ease of field coordination, shop drawing and component management. Arctic is committed to treating our employees, customers and vendors with openness and respect-both for the individual and for their business.
