But soon reality set in. We soon upgraded to a larger furnace (which heated our home and greenhouse) and purchased a trailerload of furnaces and a delivery trailer. The greenhouse is long gone, and honestly none of us miss it! HeatMaster SS outdoor furnaces provided a full time income for Dad and now for me, but more importantly an opportunity to help people with a real need- a warm home. As many of you now know new EPA regulations on woodburning stoves were put in place in 2015 and another lower emissions level came in in 2020. A lot of changes have happened and there seems to be confusion on what the regulations are. Until 2015, wood furnaces were only regulated at a state level. A patchwork of various state regs existed, mostly in the northeast and far west. Over the years the EPA has received pressure from various groups pushing environmental and health concerns related to wood smoke.
We deliver and set the furnace, install piping, heat exchangers, thermostat etc., fill the furnace with water, light the first fire and give thorough orientation. When we leave you can be confident your furnace is working properly and we stand behind the whole installation. In order to keep our install labor cost to an absolute minimum, we ask you to have the ditch ready before we arrive. An open ditch allows us to usually do the entire install in one day. Our experience has been that digging in a hurry is not a good idea!
