Established in 1954, the American Solar Energy Society (ASES) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that advocates for sustainable living and 100% renewable energy. We share information, events and resources to cultivate community and power progress in the U.S. and beyond. As the U.S. section of the International Solar Energy Society (ISES), we work with individuals and groups around the world to accelerate the transition to a renewable energy and sustainable living society. ASES is unique in its integrated perspectives of science, industry, policy and citizens.
We're a small office on a big mission. At ASES, it's all about the people who make it happen. Whether publishing Solar Today and Solar@Work or producing the National Solar Tour or National Solar Conference, these talented individuals cover the solar and renewable energy scene from coast to coast. Carly Rixham is the Executive Director for American Solar Energy Society (ASES). She is the Editor, Publisher, and Art Director forSolar Today magazine. She received her Masters in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at University of Colorado at Boulder where she researched microalgae for the production of biofuel.
ASES is currently seeking talented interns, part-time and contract employees who are enthusiastic about our mission and passionate about renewable energy. Internship Opportunities: All internship positions provide a strong introduction to renewable energy as well as the operation of a non-profit organization. They typically require 10 hours/week, for five months, and while they are non-paid, internships are eligible for university credit. In some cases, local outstanding internship performance can lead to paid part-time positions.
Our board members are essential to the operations of ASES and hail from all corners of the solar and renewable energy field. They are tasked with ensuring our programs are aligned with the ASES mission. Board elections are held annually and by special appointment. For more information, please contact chair@ases.org. Robert is an international renewable energy development specialist who has worked in over 40 countries for the past 35 years. He has implemented thousands of RE projects utilizing solar, wind, geothermal, hydro, and biomass technologies.
