NPMA proudly serves nearly 5,000 company members and their employees and works daily to further their collective mission of protecting public health, food and property from the diseases and dangers of pests. NPMA exists to impact the businesses and livelihoods of those in the pest management community. We do that through education, industry leadership, public policy initiatives and market development resources.
Professional pest control serves a critical role in society. We have a clearly defined vision of every home and business utilizing professional pest control services, and we spent much of the last year building on the foundational plans set forth in our strategic plan. 2018 was a busy year for our industry with significant progress being made. We welcomed more than 500 new member companies to our organization and initiated new programs and committees, including two new Resource Center programs, and the Recruitment & Retention committee.
Association partners have joined forces with NPMA to promote and advance the goals and objectives of the pest management industry. As a member of an association partner, you receive a multitude of benefits that will help you accomplish your business goals. To learn more about association partnership, contact our membership department at (800) 678-6722.
Because pest management professionals are naturally philanthropic in their efforts to protect person and property from the diseases and dangers of pests, NPMA conceived the NPMA Gives program. NPMA Gives is a business recognition program designed to showcase the charitable donations, programs and time contributed by our member companies to their communities. As part of the program, NPMA members commit to donating one percent of their annual net profit to charitable causes (through monetary donations, donated products or services or volunteerism).
For over 40 years, the Pest Management Foundation has funded research, education, and outreach that has shaped the way pest control work is done today. And, none of it would have been possible without generous donations from pest management professionals like you. Thank you for believing in our mission of enhancing research and education to build a better future for our industry. The Pest Management Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation, and is exempt from tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and qualifies for the maximum charitable contribution deduction by donors.
The year 2019 was significant for our association as we realized the full benefits of operating under one united, clear vision and mission set forth through our strategic plan that was established three years ago. Since then, NPMA has remained deeply focused on making consumer connections to drive positive public perception about the value of professional pest control, on protecting public health, and in serving as your advocate at the national and local level to form public policy and regulations.
NPMA supports members in being professional, knowledgeable, and profitable through education, industry leadership, public policy advocacy, and growth of the market. To help meet this mission NPMA endorses or runs many great initiatives that help keep our industry moving forward. To keep these self-sufficient causes thriving, we ask you to join, support, or donate today. Contributions to the Industry Issues Fund allows us to defend and advance the pest management industry in extraordinary circumstances through legislative, regulatory, and legal advocacy and action.
