EcoPest is a structural pest control company serving mid-Michigan, southeastern Michigan and northern Ohio. We specialize in sensitive situations pest management such as the food and healthcare industries. We cater to individuals and organizations who have special needs for pest management or concerns about the use of pesticides--while requiring highly effective management strategies. Our emphasis is on Food Safety and Organic management strategies. We are innovators, establishing some of the first formal Certified Organic Structural Pest Management programs back in the 1980's.

EcoPest company principal L. Ernest Otter, III (Ernie) is a second generation pest control operator with more than 30 years experience in the structural pest management industry. Ernie also serves as a food safety consultant, assisting clients to develop food safety prerequisite and training programs. Ernie's experience in the pest management industry includes all aspects of pest management. He maintains 11 categories of state certification and is licensed in Michigan and Ohio. He was among the first to identify bed bug re-insurgence in the State of Michigan.

EcoPest has a broad range of expertise in the commercial pest management industry. We operate in all aspects of food management from processing through the distribution stream. We operate under standardized operating procedures called Pest Management Protocols. We design a customized program for each client that uses Pest Management Protocols as the platform. This provides your company with a turn-key program that meets both regulatory and third-party audit requirements. Food Safety Benchmarked Our programs are benchmarked against all current third party food safety audit schemes (AIB, Silliker, ASI & NSF-Cook & Thurber) as well as the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) recognised schemes.
