This class focuses on tactical strategies, a greater understanding of the rules, and holds the student to a higher physical demand. Intermediate students will spend equal time observing, refereeing, fencing, and physical training. Technical and tactical drills in a group setting will provide an increased repertoire of fencing skills. This program will provide determined fencers with highest level of competitive training with everything from strength training to sport psychology. Our Adult Beginners class is provided for students 21+ years old who have little or no experience with fencing.
My son loves fencing at Utah Swords Academy! He gets a great workout and has learned so much about the sport. The students are expected to work hard and demonstrate respect. The community is very supportive, and the head coach is a very experienced, world-class fencer.
Sergei and Konstantin each have an unbridled passion for the sport of fencing and they bring it night after night to the students of the club. They have a good time but are also very serious about helping the students advance their skills. When my son started fencing with them four years ago I told him this would put hair on his chest. I'm not sure that has happened yet, but I am sure that he has learned a lot of discipline, become physically fit, made good friends, and had a lot of fun.
USA Fencing will be rescheduling #SummerNationals for late July or early August. Decisions will be made in keeping with guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control as well as local, state and federal regulations and other applicable epidemiological guidance.
