Born from the experience of a fourth generation, family-run sawmill, Ponders Hollow specializes in custom wood flooring and architectural millwork. We understand the importance of quality and service; and we strive to deliver premium, finely-crafted products and to always provide the highest level of service to our customers. With generations of milling industry experience and a highly knowledgeable management team, we are certain we can exceed the expectations of homeowners and building professionals alike.

At Ponders Hollow, we can provide you with all the high-quality standard mouldings you need to complete your project, whether it's new construction, renovation or historic restoration. We'll guide you through the ordering process, so you're assured that you'll have everything you need and that the finished look will reflect your design vision. We have countless traditional and contemporary designs, as well as numerous wood species for you to choose from. Consider using our millwork in a different species from your floors to call attention to the architectural details of your room.

Wood floors are beautiful and durable, adding warmth and personality to a room in a way that no other type of flooring can. Each plank tells a story by displaying the history of the tree from which it was cut. Unlike carpeting, which traps dust, wood flooring is non-allergenic and easy to maintain, making it an ideal choice for the whole family. We're fortunate that New England has some of the finest timber in the world, with superb grain and color, thanks in part to the region's combination of climate, geography and native species.

Ponders Hollow offers engineered wood flooring, custom made for you in any of the domestic and imported wood species we mill. Unlike solid wood flooring, which typically is not used below grade, engineered wood flooring can be used below grade, at grade and above grade, and is suitable for use with radiant heat. Substrate [or base] is plywood. Ponders Hollow uses Baltic Birch, the industry gold standard. The substrate is comprised of multiple cross lock-or interlocking-layers, glued together with each layer running perpendicular to the previous layer.
