You'll need to empty the contents of china cabinets, closets, and drawers.

The team at Floorida Floors wants you to be well prepared for your carpet installation day. Knowing what to expect will make it easier for you and your family to truly enjoying your new floors from day one. Your Floorida Floors installation crew will remove all furniture and other objects from the room(s). We recommend you empty out your closets in advance. In many cases, moldings and baseboards need to be removed prior to carpet installation. Painted baseboards, woodwork, and paint may need retouching after the installation is complete.

Tile is beautiful, durable, and easy to care for. It requires very little maintenance; the smallest effort on your part will keep it looking new for years to come. There are, however, a few things to keep in mind! Vacuum your tile or stone flooring regularly and dust mop often. Since tile is waterproof, you can safely wet mop as needed. Be sure to dry it right away, as tile can be extremely slippery when wet. If your flooring needs a deeper clean, use only a manufacturer-approved cleaning product and follow all instructions.

Over time, even resilient, durable laminate floors will start to show the effects of traffic, stains, and spills. At Floorida Floors, we've assembled these best practices for taking care of your laminate floors so you'll be better able to keep them in their original condition for as long as possible. Strategically place doormats at the entry to the rooms to capture any dirt or debris before it is tracked onto your floor. Also, protect your floor form indentations by placing floor protectors under heavy furniture and appliances.

Our vinyl specialists at Floorida Floors want you to be fully prepared for installation day. Knowing what to expect and how you're involved will help you ensure that the installation process is smooth and efficient. That way, installation will be a lot more enjoyable for you and your family. We'll remove all furniture and other objects from the areas where the installation will take place. Beforehand, you'll need to empty the contents of china cabinets, closets, and drawers. We may also ask you to adjust your climate control settings (heat or air conditioning) to maintain a consistent indoor humidity level.

Time, traffic, stains, and spills will inevitably take a toll on your hardwood. With some proper care and maintenance, however, you can keep your flooring looking its very best for decades to come. Start by investing in a high-quality broom. Sweep your hardwood floors regularly to loosen dirt, dust, and other particles that can otherwise get ground down and cause wear over time. Additionally, a vacuum cleaner without a beater bar can help clean in between planks and other hard-to-reach areas. We recommend using a terrycloth mop with a rotating head to easily pick up dust from corners, under cabinets, and along base boards.

At Floorida Floors, we recommend frequent care and maintenance to keep your new carpeting looking beautiful and feeling plush. Even if you don't necessarily have a lot of time to invest in upkeep, following some simple and easy steps will ensure the longevity of your carpet. Place door mats or area rugs wherever there are entrances to your home. These will protect your carpet from soil tracked in from outside. Just a small investment in these mats can prevent a lot of dirt and grime from getting ground into your carpet's fibers, which can dull and fray them over time.

Did you know? Modern carpet can be traced back to ancient times, when hand-tying and knotting skills were passed from generation to generation in certain Eastern cultures. By the 16th century, merchant adventurers from Europe brought home the rich textiles and rugs they encountered on their travels. Before long, textile floor coverings took off in popularity, becoming and remaining a staple in interior design ever since. Today's carpets are innovative, durable, and made to last. There are many reasons to choose carpet!

We call on our nearly 30 years of experience to provide you with valuable information that will help you make the best decision when it comes to tile for your home. Depending on the type of tile you choose (ceramic, porcelain, or variations of natural stone), tile is completely waterproof. It is also extremely durable and can resist scratches, making it ideal for areas with heavy traffic or commercial uses. It's beautiful in bathrooms and kitchens, although you'll surely love it anywhere! And it's a very versatile flooring solution, as well.

Once you've purchased your new tile or stone flooring and have scheduled your installation, we'll walk you through the rest of the process so you know what to expect. Typically, we'll dispose of old flooring at your home's trash collection site. If you have any concerns regarding disposal, please raise them with us in advance so we can make appropriate arrangements. Typically, rectangular tiles should run parallel to windows or to the longest wall in a narrow room. Before your new flooring is installed, we'll measure door clearances to ensure that your existing doors will clear.
