Myers Carpet Company was the first and remains the oldest carpet outlet in Dalton, Georgia, "The Carpet Capital of the World." The company was founded in 1957 by Gene Myers, who started buying scraps of carpet from local mills and reworking them into stair treads and small rugs, which he then sold through area chenille stores on "Peacock Alley" along Georgia Highway 41.
Today the Myers family lays to rest Evelyn Myers (Mama E). She cofounded Myers Flooring with Gene Myers in 1957. Without her, Myers Flooring of Dalton, Atlanta and Nashville wouldn’t exist. We love you Mama E and will miss you very much!
