Carson's Lumbermill is located in Sunman, Indiana near the Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky border, making us conveniently accessible to anyone in the tri-state area. Shipping arrangements can be made for those interested in our products that aren't within driving distance. Established in 1986 when we bought our first Woodmizer Sawmill, our focus at that time was custom sawing and lumber. As our client base grew, so did their requests for additional products and services. Committed to meet the demands of our customers, additional equipment and machinery was acquired to fulfill their needs.
At Carson's Lumbermill, the term "millwork" encompasses a wide range of products and services. Due to the variety of machines that we have on site, our capabilities provide several options for our customers. Services include custom planing, straight lining and resawing, just to mention a few. If there's any type of millwork that you would like to have done with your lumber, let us know and we'll be happy to discuss your requests and what we can do to help. Carson's Lumbermill also has the ability to match most any type of trim or molding.
Carson's Lumbermill stocks a large selection of lumber. We have kiln-dried and air-dried, or we will cut green lumber from our log inventory to meet your specifications. We also offer lumber that has been thermally modified. For anyone embarking upon indoor projects, our onsite kiln enables us to offer kiln-dried lumber. We do keep an assortment of dried lumber on hand. If we don't have what you need, we can cut and dry it, or source it from other partnering mills if you need it quickly. In addition to the ‘typical' lumber, Carson's Lumbermill also caters to woodworkers looking for those ‘unique' cuts of wood.
Our onsite hardwood flooring operation is unique in that we have the capability to perform every step of the process from beginning to end. We saw the logs into the boards needed with our Wood-Mizer sawmill. The lumber is then dried to an 8% moisture content in our dehumidification kiln. Once dried, our staff cuts the boards to size and mills them into solid hardwood flooring. By performing all of these steps at Carson's Lumbermill we are able to provide quality custom hardwood flooring not found in most retail stores.
