We provide superior, green, flooring products made from sustainable and reclaimed raw materials. More durable than oak or other hardwoods, our strandwoven eucalyptus, mulberry, bamboo and mosaic poplar flooring is made using natural resources that are recycled or can be replenished easily and safely in a short period of time, keeping the best interest of the environment in mind.
Bamboo stalks are meticulously monitored with a dating system, and harvested at peak maturity of between five and seven years. They are then cut into strip pieces and readied for the StrandWoven Process. Some of these strips are pressure heated, causing the sugars to caramelize into the rich brown hues found in our carbonized flooring products. These strips are then sorted and categorized by color. All of the strips are then dried in a computer-regulated kiln to achieve the specified moisture content.
We are members of the NWFA (National Wood Flooring Association), and we are members of the USGBC (United States Green Building Council). While many of our product test results and processes qualify us for various certifications, we have chosen to withhold application, pending the decision of the industry as a whole to standardize on those which are widely accepted. If your particular job requires certifications for consideration, we encourage you to review the individual specifications and test results listed under each product page on this website.
