John B. Pike & Son, Inc. builds the Medical Arts Building in Rochester, New York, which was the first medical office building in the city. The build was owned and developed by John D. Pike. The City of Rochester's Water Operations Center becomes the first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold Certified building in Rochester, and the first municipal building in all of New York State to earn LEED Gold Certification. Pike provided construction management services for the project.

We serve as an advocate throughout the planning, pre-construction, construction and post construction phases. Pike is the single source for an integrated delivery process that includes absolute accountability for both design and construction. Program management services provide the owner with better control of all aspects of a project. Today's facilities demand properly planned attention that can result in safe structural and environmental conditions. Paying close, continuing attention to every detail during pre-construction has the greatest impact on the success of a project.

Design-build is an integrated delivery process where Pike works with the architect and engineer as a single entity, with absolute accountability for design and construction. Providing design-build services eliminates the owner need to coordinate the design and construction teams, and streamlines the design and construction process, resulting in time and money savings. Working as one team, under the direction of an experienced project manager, Pike is able to control safety, quality, cost, schedule and final delivery, ensuring project success.

The Pike Company approach to construction management services is to be an advocate for the owner throughout the planning, preconstruction, construction and post construction phases. Our extensive construction management services include safety management, quality management, program review, cost estimating, value engineering, constructability reviews, preliminary scheduling, bid phase management, managing and controlling all construction operations, document control, submittal management, cost control and contingency management, change management, management of payment applications, construction schedule management, daily field coordination, meetings and meeting minutes, contract management, correspondence and communication management, close out, and commissioning.

Not only do we manage construction projects - we build them. Pike's high-quality workmanship is delivered in a safe and timely manner to meet or exceed the expectations of our customers, and it's why so many clients come back to us time and time again. The Pike Company is committed to integrity and craftsmanship, and is dedicated to doing the job right the first time. Pike has the ability to self perform sitework, masonry, excavation, ironworks, millwork, epoxy flooring, concrete, carpentry, specialty contracting and rigging.

The Pike Company's construction approach is derived from the understanding that most construction dollars are spent before "the shovel hits the ground." Dollars are spent when decisions are made during the design of a project. Paying close, continuing attention to every detail during preconstruction has the greatest impact on the success of a project. During preconstruction, the Pike team works with the design team and the owner's team to provide support that ensures cost, constructability and scheduling are addressed during the critical decision making stage of design, resulting in a smooth construction phase.

The Pike Company provided construction management at risk services for Rochester Institute of Technology's new Global Village. The project consisted of three independent structures.
