Wiregrass Habitat for Humanity and Wiregrass Electric Cooperative (WEC) have partnered to bring the "Habitat Weatherization Program" to members of WEC. Wiregrass Habitat for Humanity (WHFH) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the elimination of substandard housing in the Wiregrass area of Alabama. WHFH, in partnership with people in need, breaks the cycle of poverty by providing decent affordable housing and improving the quality of life for partner families. WHFH partners with the low-income families they build with — partners with the businesses, churches, and civic groups who donate the funds and building materials to build the homes — and partners with other service agencies to educate partner families to be responsible homeowners and community-minded citizens.

Affordable, reliable, electric service for our members - that is Wiregrass Electric Cooperative's (WECs) mission, every day. WEC was founded with the goal of providing energy to this area at an affordable rate. WEC's electric rates meet or beat many electric providers throughout the nation. When compared to other electric cooperatives across the country, WEC also carries much less debt. This takes a lot of planning, and a judicious use of resources. Through the use of technology and advanced training for WEC employees, our cost of labor is more than 20% lower than the national average when compared to other electric providers.

What's new?

At WEC, the safety of our employees is always a priority! Thank you to Jeff Whatley with AREA for conducting Ladder Safety training this morning at our Safety Meeting. 🪜#SafetyFirst
