GCI continues to raise the bar on sustainable construction practices in the Bay Area. Through early collaboration with owners and architects, GCI implements the most advanced ideas in green building and workplace wellness. Experienced with LEED, the Living Building Challenge, WELL and Fitwell, our team works to exceed the expectations of these programs. As active members of organizations like the US Green Building Council, International Living Futures Institute, Bay Area Deconstruction Policy Working Group, Northern California Recycling Association, and Sustainable Construction Leaders Group, we advocate for continual improvement towards net-zero impact construction.
GCI has its own full time labor force that performs sustainable demolition, carpentry, clean-up and protection. We're currently averaging 95% waste diversion on all projects company-wide as we have implemented innovative methods to divert almost all construction waste from landfills. Consistent and open communication with our clients and their design teams reduces, if not eliminates events and surprises that may cause delays, cost overruns, and the erosion of project team chemistry.
