A thorough professional survey can provide you with important information on a vessels condition as well as ascertain the vessels suitability for its intended use. Buying a boat is as much an emotional transaction as a financial one. Love may be blind but through the experienced eyes of a professional surveyor, you will be provided with an objective opinion of the vessels condition and value. Most banks and insurance underwriters require a survey on used vessels. They want to know the condition and fair market value of the vessel they insure or finance.

Gulf of Maine Boat Surveyors conducts surveys of pleasure vessels, both power and sail, as well as commercial vessels within the guidelines of ABYC Standards and U.S.C.G. requirements adhering to the code of ethics of the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors (SAMS). Our base of operation is New England, NY, and NJ but will travel U.S. and the World as our client needs dictate. We are available for survey services in S W Florida during the months of January thru March. Each survey is thoroughly documented with a detailed survey report.

With our solid background in vessel operation, construction, and repair we can address issues and problems that surveying alone does not cover. Consulting services often include refitting, re-powering, or major systems repair. We will work with the builder or repair facility to schedule visits and inspections at crucial points in the process. We then report back to you, with recommendations that may be necessary and/or approve the work to proceed. Often folks will call requesting a survey for a donation, estate or other situation, when a valuation review is all they need.
