Hi! We're Calafata Construction & Electric and though we may have opened our doors in 2004, we've been in the construction business since 1994, and in San Diego our entire lives. CC&E was started by Wes Calafata, Robin Calafata & Sean Sedgwick, with Wes and Sean in one truck fielding small electrical service calls. Since that time, we've grown into a full service construction company with multiple trucks and service all of California. We are family owned and operated and most of us all grew up together right here in sunny San Diego.

This is type of installation is typically found on a warehouse type of structure with large open areas of flat roof. We install our panels tilted up to capture as much of the Sun's energy as possible. We can and have installed almost every panel that's on the market today. From Silfab to Mission, to Panasonic, to LG; if it's a reputable solar manufacturer with a solid warranty, we've installed it. Many different factors go into choosing a panel that's right for you. Size, wattage, warranty, and aesthetics are all things to consider.

The first step of any commercial project is getting plans. We recommend finding and architect/engineer who you trust who can create these plans for you. If you don't know of anyone we have people that we can highly recommend. The advantage of using a third party to create these plans is that even if you decide not to use us to build your project, your design will always be yours to keep. And any other contractor will still need a set of plans.

We'll schedule a time that's convenient for you to come out and measure your roof (or land if you want a ground mount system) and evaluate your main electrical panel. At this time we will also inspect the condition of your roof and let you know if we think you should contact a roofer (we can always provide recommendations as well) before installing solar panels. All of this is at no charge to you! After your property and electrical needs have been evaluated we'll present you with a proposal, once we're all in agreement we'll have our design team create your solar plan set which is then submitted to the city for your permit.
