In 1946, my father, Stephen S. Zagorski, Sr., started a gunite restoration business on Boston's Northshore, specializing in bridge and tunnel construction. As he explored other applications for gunite, he became interested in building swimming pools and he changed his focus. Known as a man of integrity, my father endeavored to provide customers with a quality product at a fair price. In 1963, he, with a select group of builders from around the country, banded together to form the Master Pools Guild, an organization created to identify pools of excellence and to establish unparalleled standards for the pool industry.
