Most landscape projects today cost tens of thousands of dollars. With the addition of elements like outdoor kitchens, outdoor rooms, outdoor fireplaces, fire-pits, and patio-covers, the complexity of the landscape design is greater than ever. If there is a swimming pool involved the expense and complexity go up considerably. This increases the need to find the most qualified person to guide you through the process and become your advocate. If you understand in advance the best way to get to the finished landscape, you'll avoid a lot of frustration and expense that comes with the common mistakes.

Jeff Wortham & Associates is a Landscape Architectural firm focused primarily on residential landscape design. We offer a unique blend of design expertise, plant knowledge, and construction know-how. Jeff Wortham started his training at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, CA and finished with his BA in Landscape Architecture in 1986. Cal Poly is known for its' hands on approach and Jeff worked his way through school doing gardening and landscaping. This is where his interest in construction and understanding how things work started to combine with design.

It is very hard to do a complete backyard landscape design project including a swimming pool design and not pay over a $100,000 for everything in the east bay area. Many projects with larger lots exceed $200,000. When spending that amount of money on anything it makes sense to approach the project with a plan that gives you the best possibility for a great outcome at a fair value. Given this level of importance it only makes sense that the designer be qualified to assess all of these issues. The group most qualified to design any project of this size are Landscape Architects.

Hiring a Landscape Architect in Livermore, CA for your residential project isn't the easiest thing to do. It is much easier to find a landscape designer that isn't a Landscape Architect. Most residential design work is done by landscape designers with minimal design training and that's why there are many more of them. You are likely to spend over $30,000 on a landscape design project, so it doesn't make sense to have it created by someone with limited experience and training. Why do so many landscape designers do the lion's share of residential design?

If you live in Walnut Creek, CA you probably live in an older home. If you are searching for a Landscape Architect to help you with a remodel of your old landscape then you have come to the right place. Remodeling a landscape is a lot different then new construction. Although we do both types of design, we do at least three times more remodeling than new. One of the key benefits to using a Landscape Architect for a remodel project, whether large or small, is our depth of training. Many of the problems we solve for our clients involve drainage, irrigation, grading, planting, and of course, space design.

If you live in San Ramon, CA and are looking for a Landscape Architect, this is probably not your first landscape project. We have found that most of the homeowners that come to us looking only at Landscape Architects have already learned the hard lesson of doing a landscape project with vague or no plans. They have learned how little control they had over the process and how the cost they thought they had agreed to rarely staid where it started. The complexity of Landscape Design for today's lifestyle has created a high demand for strong planning and design understanding that only comes with a Landscape Architect.

If you are starting a landscape project in Dublin, CA and you searched for a Landscape Architect then you're starting in the right place. You probably already understand that a landscape design that is very specific and detailed when developed by a designer that has been trained to consider architectural style, micro climates for plants, irrigation design for water efficiency, drainage and many other details that are left off of most residential landscape plans, has a much greater value than the cost of the plans.

If you live in Danville, CA and are looking for a Landscape Architect to help you with the planning and vision of your landscape project, you are one of the few who already understand how critical and valuable good planning is to a great outcome. Although Landscape Architects have been doing residential design for decades most homeowners still look first to a Design/build company or a Landscape Designer. We have found that the cost of the mistakes has become so great that homeowners are finally realizing the value of well considered, in depth planning.

If you live in Pleasanton, CA and are starting a landscape project you may be asking yourself if you should hire a Landscape Architect and whether you need to spend the money on someone like that. It's a common question for homeowners that often aren't sure of the benefits. You are likely looking at remodeling an existing landscape given there aren't a lot of new homes in Pleasanton, CA. We are residential Landscape Architects in Pleasanton, CA and I have lived in Pleasanton for over 18 years while raising my children.
