At Odhner & Odhner Fine Woodworking, we work with architects, builders, and homeowners to create beautifully crafted home libraries, home theaters, fireplace-walls, kitchens, and baths. We offer design assistance through initial planning through building and finally installation. Our design staff can work from plans provided by an architect or designer, furnishing shop drawings for approval, or we can work from an idea sketched out on paper and bring that idea to life. Our craftsmen take pride in our craftsmanship and dedication to each project.

Odhner & Odhner Fine Woodworking was founded by Dirk Odhner in 1976. Dirk discovered his passion for woodworking quite accidentally. In the summer of 1973, he was working, like many college students, painting houses and doing odd jobs related to home improvement and repairs. One day, a customer asked him if he might be interested in making some vanities for the house they were building. Dirk agreed to take on the task and quickly fell in love with the entire process. Realizing that he had found his life's work, Dirk set out to learn everything he could about woodworking.

We can work with your designer or architect, or provide in-house design service. Our design professionals are conveniently located to serve Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. We will visit your home to get a feeling for your style preference and carefully measure the area. When we build your bookcase we'll choose the materials carefully, selecting them for their beauty and longevity. For natural wood finishes, we use native American hardwoods (cherry, maple, oak, and walnut) and imported mahogany, all selected for their beauty and richness.

Every client who comes to us has an idea of what they would like to see come to life. In some cases, they have professional design drawings already, or they show us a sketch they've done, and we just need to interpret those and build what's needed. That said, in many cases, our clients will need help with the design process. This is a process we enjoy. We excel in bringing loosely conceived ideas to a point where they become beautiful, tangible woodwork. First, we ask our potential clients to send us some phone photos of the area, along with some rough dimensions and a description of what they would like to see.
