Partnership and collaboration is the key to our success and, like all of healthcare, it improves patient outcome. At American Medical Response (AMR), we enjoy our relationships with the fire service and first responders in more than 4,000 communities nationwide. Our support of the IAFC 5-Bugle Program shows our dedication to the relationships we've cultivated with local fire departments and our desire to collaborate in innovative ways in this time of dramatic change in healthcare. AMR, America's leading provider of medical transportation, provides care in 40 states and the District of Columbia, employs nearly 30,000 personnel, maintains a fleet of more than 7,000 vehicles, manages 56 dispatch centers, and transports more than 4 million patients nationwide each year in critical, emergency and non-emergency situations.
