Before a project can be developed, it's full potential must be realized to insure that what is designed will be to the best possible advantage of the site. To aid in understanding this potential, the existing elements and those which influence the site must be established. This is accomplished through research and site analysis. When planning a project, we study and analysize all the site's internal and external influences. Robert P. A successful project hinges upon proper programming of each discipline involved. As the Landscape Architect, it is our tacit responsibility to plan and design each project intelligently by developing a Project Program. Through research and analysis, we can organize a program of requirements based upon input from all interested persons who can contribute constructive thought. Coherence - Linking together of areas by spacial definition. Organization - Materials should be sympathetic to perception of pedestrians & automobiles.
Residential projects are one of the most challenging and unique types to design. I see it as 3D art that you can actually walk into and through. It's living art in a constant state of movement and change. By arranging and placement of natural and man made elements, you can create a series of outdoor rooms that can stimulate a variety of human emotions and response. Create a sence of excitement or relaxation. It can stimulate the sense of sight, smell, sound, touch and even taste. Hardscape elements are the backbone of my designs.
