This densely packed 3 bedroom three bathroom house replaced a 1940s cottage with a disappearing foundation. The brief called for an indoor outdoor 2 story. A casual light filled house with minimalist detailing and a waterproofing system that is El Nino certified was provided. A dark enclosed 1903 Victorian was remodeled to become a light filled gathering place that functions in this century. Living areas with their original details were preserved. Untouched since 1958, light channels were sliced through the dark interior in this complete remodel.
Eliza knows that listening is the most important skill in an architect's toolkit. As your primary contact throughout the design and build process, she synthesizes conversations into creative solutions. Equal parts orchestrator and architect, she ensures that no question is left unanswered and no detail is left unfinished. Eliza's experience spans beyond architecture to include sustainable design, urban design, geographic information systems, and computer modeling. Sustainability is a particular passion of hers, and one she actively pursues through continued education to integrate the latest materials and practices.
We designed an additional 1200 square feet to this workman's cottage built in 1882. The existing house had1800 square feet and the design vastly improved the layout as well. There is a rear two story addition and a further extended 1 story addition with roof deck and lower level master suite.
