I have always loved figuring out solutions and building things that were not only beautiful but functional as well. After graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill, I worked for ten years with both custom and national builders where I gained a lot of experience in managing commercial and residential projects. But I always wanted to be on my own, focusing on relationships and building a business I could be proud of. In 2004, I started Surles Builders building custom homes and remodeling. The joy I get out of what I do are things like the finishing edge we put on the granite to make it look a bit more Tuscan, the little door we added for extra storage behind the built-in television, and the curved toe-molding around the island that hugs the cabinet just so.
