Back in 2015 the MacArthur Foundation launched a multi-year initiative to reduce populations and racial disparities in American jails, which resulted in the creation of the Safety and Justice Challenge! The focal point of our work is to help jurisdictions across the country to use innovative, collaborative, and evidence-based strategies to create fairer, more effective justice systems.
