Whether on a jobsite or in the office, safety is always a top priority, and our safety record speaks for itself. Since 1993, Layton has earned both the Association of General Contractors (AGC) National Certificate of Commendation for Safety Excellence and the AGC Utah Chapter Outstanding Safety Award, every year. Since employee safety doesn't end when the workday is over, we created the Layton Injury-Free Environment, or LIFE program. This program not only teaches employees to be aware of and deal with potentially dangerous situations at work, but it includes first aid, CPR and other training that teaches employees to focus on safety even when they're not working.

In 2004, Layton had just finished construction of the Huntsman Cancer Hospital, and Jon Huntsman's passion to cure cancer was contagious. Since that time, Layton has committed hundreds of thousands of dollars towards cancer research. When Layton Construction heard about 5 for the Fight, the company decided to go all in and engage all employees, subcontractors, architects and engineers and all others within the Layton community. While Layton understands the importance of sustainable building for the environment, we also recognize its benefits for our clients. Reducing energy consumption means lower costs for the end-user, while improving the life of your building. Layton performs lifecycle cost analysis on all materials specified in the design and recommends alternatives that provide superior energy performance, including mechanical and plumbing, electrical and building envelope systems. We use smaller, half-ton pickup trucks for our operations fleet, which substantially reduces the gross vehicle weight (GVW) and maximizes fuel economy.
