Stone Restoration Works is based in the Denver Colorado. We clean and polish travertine, marble and limestone throughout the Denver area, including Castle Rock, Littleton, Parker, Westminster, Arvada, Broomfield, Colorado Springs, Boulder and Fort Collins. At our core, we are a hard surface cleaning and restoration company specializing in natural stone. That includes cleaning, polishing and repairing your granite. There are three components to successfully cleaning any surface 1) Chemical 2) Agitation 3) Heat. We come in when the soiling on your floor or countertop has gone beyond what normal maintenance can handle successfully. We are able to use a variety of techniques to successfully clean your floor, countertop or shower, depending on the surface and degree of soiling. Regardless of the area or surface being cleaned we first pre-treat the area with an environmentally safe degreaser which emulsifies soils.

Granite has become an immensely popular material in homes and businesses, especially for countertops. It is naturally very dense and hard which makes it difficult to scratch. Polished granite also has a very high surface tension, which makes it naturally resistant to moisture penetration and staining. Granite countertops very rarely require a heavy restoration. In most cases, we only need to clean, polish and seal to refresh the countertop. We typically only have to do this in a window 7-10 years post installation.

Limestone is a calcareous stone similar to marble and travertine. As such, it is susceptible to acid etching and finish degradation from soiling. Limestone is most often left with a matte finish, but can be polished like any other stone. We clean and refinish limestone on floors and countertops and from time to time, we encounter limestone in showers. Since it is similar in structure to both travertine and marble, the issues that are common to both travertine and marble are common to limestone as well.

When we clean showers we always pretreat the tile and grout lines with a cleaning agent then use a high temperature vapor machine to clean and disinfect the grout and tile. We can also remove and replace damaged and moldy caulking with a color matched acrylic of silicone.

Tile and grout are an integral part of the services we offer. Every tile floor natural stone or otherwise has grout. That grout can become a real sore point for home and business owners. The trouble with grout is really two fold. First grout is a low point in the floor so it is the most likely place for soil to settle. Second grout is the most porous portion of the floor and high susceptible to discoloration from soil buildup. There are three types of grout we work on. 1) Sanded 2) Non Sanded 3) Epoxy.
