He bought the company (July 1997) after 30 years as a radio and television news and sports broadcaster and executive in Columbus, OH; Memphis, TN; Orlando, FL and many smaller communities in between. As George says, "I went from Brooks Bros suits and Bugatti ties to Dress-for-less at Ross." Now the business is almost 25 years old. And while there is a wide gulf between broadcasting and fencing, both involves working with (customers) and managing people. And both occupations require a strong commitment to ethics and trust.
